Mehr Theater Group takes “Summerless” to Italian festival

TEHRAN – The Mehr Theater Group, an Iranian troupe led by director Amir-Reza Kuhestani, is participating in the Festival Delle Colline Torinesi underway in the Italian city of Torino with “Summerless”.

A cast composed of Mona Ahmadi, Saeid Changizian and Leili Rashidi accompanies the troupe, which had its first performance on Saturday. They are scheduled to stage the play again today, the organizers have announced.

Mehr will be in the French city of Avignon during July to perform “Summerless” at the Festival d’Avignon, which will be held from July 8 to 15.

They will then leave the country to stage the play at Tehran’s Iranshahr Theater Complex from July 30 to August 14.

The play stages the relationship between members of the new generation, eager to discover the world and live in a different society. A fundamental show to understand the current transformations of Iranian society.
